What Native Americans and the starving Irish had in common

The heartwarming tale of pay-it-forward with a 173 year gap.

173 years ago, Ireland was starving. 3 million people either died or were forced to emigrate due to the potato famine. Amid that crisis, a tribe of Native Americans collected $170 – worth $5000 in today’s money – and sent it to help the Irish people. Now the Navajo nation tribe has itself been badly affected by the Coronavirus and reached out to the Irish people for help.
